BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL DIRECTOR
To earn an American College of Corporate Directors Professional Director status, a member must accumulate a set number of Credits. Credits are earned by attendance at ACCD sponsored Webinar/Zoominars. At each event, an expert/experts presents on some of the many important aspects of board work and understanding.
Once a set number of Credits are earned, a member qualifies for that Professional Director level that equates to the number of required Credits. For instance, a member earning 4 Credits would qualify for a Professional Director, while 4 more Credits, or a total of 8, would qualify for an Advanced Professional Director. Once a set number of Credits is earned, the member qualifies for that level of Professional Director and is billed, via credit card, for the Certification fee needed to make the new designation official. The Certification fee is a charge for the number of Webinars attended by the member in the process of attaining a Professional Director credential.
The member's new category is then reflected by their name being displayed on the cover page of the ACCD website and all ACCD correspondence and a Certification diploma.
Each Professional Director Certification, at any level, expires in 2 years unless:
